"Leading with Empathy: Strategies for Creating a Culture of Wellness at Work"
August 10, 2022
12:00-1:00 PM
Live Virtual Lunch-and-Learn Session
In the 2021 Work and Well-being Survey conducted by the American Psychological Association, 79% of employees had experienced work-related stress in the month before the survey. Nearly 3 in 5 employees reported negative impacts of work-related stress, including lack of interest, motivation, or energy (26%) and lack of effort at work (19%). Meanwhile, 36% reported cognitive weariness, 32% reported emotional exhaustion, and an astounding 44% reported physical fatigue—a 38% increase since 2019.
Now more than ever workplace wellness is critically important, as work-related stress and burn out are at a high in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Join Dr. Carter as she explores what it means to lead with empathy in the workplace including what empathy is, how to respond to employee distress empathically, and strategies for creating a culture of wellness at work. Learn specific techniques and strategies leaders and supervisors can use to be the champions of wellness in the work place as well as support their own mental wellness at work.
